I have felt it, sister. I have felt the deep pain reverberating from Mother Earth as she weeps, asking when we will remember that this, this is our home. Our home where we light our candle and are reminded that all is LOVE.
Do you hear the calling, not only from the sisters but Pachamama, for us to rise and stand in unity as we forgive ourselves and those around us for being out of relation with the earth?
This past weekend was powerful for me. I sat in a very potent hoop with my fellow sisters and brothers as I was initiated into a relationship with Grandfather Tobacco. Like many things, he has been wronged and misunderstood in so many ways. This weekend I had the most beautiful opportunity to understand his wisdom and learn the sacred way of honoring his teachings.
During the whole weekend I could not help but feel the love exuding from the lands. We sat outside by a flowing creek, listening to the leaves speak to us, feeling the spirit of the mountains watching over us, and the waters inviting us to participate in calling forth a deeper appreciation for all waters around the world.
I have learned so much from the great teachers of the land and it is why I continue to feel so called to the work that I do. It is what moves me to travel this beautiful planet, seeking out the stories it has to share.
One such place is Peru. My connection to Peru runs wide and deep.
Because of this eternal love I have for her and her wisdom, I have devoted my year to being taught and reminded of the traditions and sacred healing practices of the medicine people in Peru. It’s brought me teachers who have learned from wise shamans of the Q’ero and Shipibo traditions.
I sit here writing this with tears running down my cheeks for I have been waiting for this day.
The day when I would find a hoop, a circle, a community that not only “gets” me, but hand-in-hand, are committed to creating change from the inside out.
This is the power of circle that I have known existed and have been envisioning happening around the world. My prayers have been answered and I have found a tribe of people that I can lean on and stand with.
It starts here. The love. The RISE up. The change. It starts here. It starts with me. It starts with you.
Now, when I return to Peru in July of 2017, my feet will touch the ground with gratitude, and my forehead will brush the ground with a deeper reverence for the land, it’s people, and all of it’s wisdom.
This sacred experience is not singular.
I have these moments several times a day as my spiritual practices are reminders, a key into this feeling that I can access anytime.
What I’ve noticed is that it helps to have space to attend powerful experiences with a group of loving and radically self-responsible sisters to open your heart and infuse your soul with important transmissions that are specifically for you.
Once this happens, you can access it with greater ease. Pachamama and Apu does this.
Whether it is through Shamanic healing, a Despacho ceremony, a sweat lodge, a meditation, drumming, a song, envisioning your year, dreaming about your next retreat, energy practices, circle work, rituals, or trekking to Machu Picchu - to be in sisterhood through the process creates a container that is so full of magic that our spiritual team of badass sorcery, like our guides and angels, can activate the cauldron of vision and bring them forth into this life.
Let us first be in right relation with ourselves, our sisters, and the Earth.
Firstly, giving our gratitude and respect, then laying to rest parts of our ego that no longer serves, honoring those that have come before us, and finally allowing this new relationship to bring forth a new vision for us all.
A New Earth.
I am here to be in relation to all, including you dear sister.
