This past weekend I found myself delighted by the reactions of children as they opened their gifts. I watched how their faces changed and they squealed with delight. It was so contagious that I found myself experiencing gift receiving the same way. There was a moment when one of the kids asked why I loved boxes so much for I would ooh and aah around the packaging. I told them each box was much more than a box. The box could be used to create new magical creations, it lovingly housed an intentional gift, and more importantly the box was the energetic imprint of possibilities.
This is why I love boxes, cubes. Cubes that could turn into pyramids, into spheres, into cones - into three dimensional shapes that shows us the unlimited creations that we have the power to manifest into our lives.
Manifesting is such a magical thing. Months ago, my beloved shared that he found a notebook that he had journaled in, on and off again, for a number of years. He was surprised to see a couple of notes jotted down with a list of his dreams. The beautiful part of this experience was that he realized he had called in almost everything on the list. The sacred act of using his favorite ink pen, in a beautifully crafted journal, sitting in nature, truly moved him and he desired to do this more often.
My partner may not be fully immersed in the magic realms the way I am, but he does not belittle the power in cultivating magic through mindful practices to co-create a world that is better for all.
So as a holiday gift, I bought him his favorite pen (the previous one he lost), a new notebook, and a leather band that holds his pens on his notebook. We made a commitment to have monthly dreaming dates where we get to infuse more magic in our lives through journaling and sharing.
Yesterday, we created time and space to drop in and talk.
We spoke about our dreams, our home, our careers, and our happiness. Some of the conversation was about individual experiences while others were focused on us as a couple.
Much included what will bring us joy, a sense of purpose, love, and connection. We openly discussed our challenges as well as had some intimate conversations about marriage and children.
A box is not a box. A dream is not just a dream. A conversation is not just two people talking.
A box is about what could be created with, in, out, alongside, through, under, above, and without the box.
A dream is about the unimaginable forming itself into a profound reality that blows your very notion of what’s possible.
A conversation is a portal into the soul where one falls in love over and over again with the other person.
So I invite you to play with a box, dream big, and have heart-altering conversations frequently.
Here at Sora’s Magical & Sacred HQ, we’ve decided to create a free monthly calendar that you can print out and use to dream. Included are some playful ways you can connect with me and key astrological events to notes (because harnessing magic is how we roll).
