When I was a teacher I quickly learned that teaching is not just a natural talent but a skill that you can learn to master over time. For me the fundamental principle of teaching is that there is no one way to support your students. I had to get to know my 35 “children” very quickly and shift the way I communed with an individual child based on their energy, their personality, their learning style, and their needs.
This is true for my sister clients. I do not have one single coaching style for it shifts based on the essence of my sister’s soul. I try to intentionally meet them where they are at. We do this in a ceremonial way, grounding in together, and trusting we are heading in the direction that feels true and good for my client. The one important principle when holding space for my client is to create a container that feels safe and held. Here is a little sneak peak into how I hold virtual space with a client, 1-on-1.
Create Your Magical Container
Before showing up for your client, take a moment, even if it’s only 2 minutes and call yourself back in. Let go of any energies that are not your own, and imagine that you are a clear vessel serving your client with clarity as a priestess.
Now with your client on the phone or on zoom with you, settle in together and invite her to close her eyes. Lead her through a short meditation that roots her into the present moment, calming her energy, and bringing her into the magical space where intelligence and intuition meet.
Pray with intention
Before asking her to open her eyes, set an intention for the coaching call. Share a short prayer to help strengthen your magical container.
Invite your client to share what she has been experiencing in life and in business since the last coaching call. Listen. Really listen to her words, her feelings, her body language, and her energy.
Ask her where she desires support today. Getting curious around whether she desires emotional, energetic, or strategic support.
Be guided by the Goddess and as a cosmic warrior priestess, lend your support. Ask the brilliant questions, provide the deep reflections, suggest the strategies or practices that will help your client thrive.
Together discern what feels true. Trust your client’s intuition and simple ebb and flow with her, letting go of final outcome and instead staying with her providing her space for her to remember she is a wise, wild woman.
Reflect on your time together and what you have uncovered. Review any action steps or next steps your client desires to be taking away with her. What is her soul work that she is committed to exploring and doing on her own until the next time she connect with you?
How are you both feeling? Ask your sister to share how she felt prior to the call and where she is now? It doesn’t mean she needs to feel good. Rather, it’s more important that she feels true, that she is more present to the fullest expression of herself.
Close your call with gratitudes, ending this session and disconnecting your energy with her so that you both may continue on with your day.
Sister, this is how I hold space with my sisters on Zoom, a video platform. Whether it’s with my mastermind women, my private 1:1 clients, or intimate connection calls with ladies who are wondering how to best work with me.
How do you hold space for your clients? In what ways is it different or the same? Is there a practice based on what I’ve shared that you will take away and try this week?
