SoraTV Episode 14: Goddess Story Part 1 - Jealousy

Jealousy as a tool for your highest good

Oh, sister. I am over the moon excited about what will be shared on the next four SoraTV episodes.

Are you ready?

We will be diving deep into the stories of a dear Goddess that has been with me for a very long time. For lifetimes. Isis.

In today’s special episode, I will introduce you to Isis and her family. Through the next 4 weeks, these stories will help us navigate life and business, providing us with some important teachings that open ourselves up to the powerful, soulful, feminine leaders that make up our essence.

A healer, a medicine woman, a loving mother, a devoted wife, a proponent for all women, Isis is the first daughter of Geb, god of the Earth, and Nut, goddess of the Sky, and she had two brothers, Osiris and Set.

Later in life, Isis and Osiris fell in love and began to teach us the magical, potent alchemy of divine union, sacred partnership. This is the badass couple that truly exemplifies being in a relationship with grace.

Due to their unconditional love, their brother, Set, began to be consumed by jealousy.

His jealousy turned into hatred not only for their love but the immense power this couple had between the two of them. This rage took over, and he vowed to do everything in his power to make sure Isis and Osiris were never together.

So, the story goes on to explain that Set captures and kills Osiris and places him in a box and then throws him into the ocean, where he then moves and cascades through the water until he settles deep into the arms of Mother Earth.

Isis is beyond herself, as you can imagine. There’s more to this story, and we’ll go deeper into that in the next episode, but today I desired to touch on the first lesson of this story - jealousy.

Have you ever allowed jealousy to put someone in a box of false identity, stories, and emotions of what you think they are? You slowly brewed the feelings of insecurity and hesitation around that person until it unexpectedly and unconsciously turned into frustration and hatred.

Have you ever been catty towards another or gossiped about a woman that you barely knew? All because you thought their world looked one way (and it’s not the way your world looks).

And when we take a step back, we know better.

We know the identity we place on another sister isn’t actually true and we don’t know all aspects of their life. We only know the one area that matches what we desire and want.

How many times, because of jealousy, of wanting something that someone else has, have we placed ourselves in a box?

We take on all of the properties of the person we are jealous of, thinking that it will get us to where they are.

So, we place ourselves in a box. You could call it a niche, or a specific way of showing up, you can even call it taking on someone else’s persona by taking on their voice, their branding, their choices of services, how they speak and present themselves, all of those things.

Either way, it’s really not fair to place yourself or this other person in a box because we are so much more than that.

So, let’s talk about how to clear this, how to acknowledge what this looks like, and how to remember that this is deeply just a reflection of you and your desires.

  • Acknowledge the emotion fully. Don’t try to suppress this emotion because you think it makes you a bad person or because you “shouldn’t” be feeling this way. Honoring how you feel doesn’t mean you have to act on it or hold on to it.
  • Notice why you are jealous and what you are comparing, in yourself, with others. Where are you feeling “less than” or envious? How does this show up physically, mentally, and emotionally?
  • What desires stem from this place? What do you believe this person is experiencing that you are not? What do you believe is different in them or what do you believe is missing in you?
  • How may you embrace the learning and devote yourself to embodying this missing piece fully? Where can you find gratitude for how you are feeling and the medicine it brings you?
  • Remember this is simply a reflection of you in your fullest light. There is nothing wrong with you, I promise. Witness your tender places and love your tender places, while also releasing the story around the hurt.

Move through the exercise above and post your thoughts, insights, a-has, and/or reflections over in our Sacred Circle Facebook Community.
